The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) is set to join forces with the African Cultural Festival (ACF2025) to host the African Diaspora Summit in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA, from September 19 to 21, 2025. The event, which has the backing of the Government of Pennsylvania and the Dauphin County Commissioners, will bring together global leaders, creatives, entrepreneurs, and policymakers under the theme: “Africa to the World: Culture, Creativity, and Collaboration.”
Gabriel Odu from the NiDCOM Media unit disclosed in an official statement that the three-day festival will serve as a convergence point for showcasing African creativity and deepening engagement with the Diaspora community.
The Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, described the summit as a vital platform to harness the expertise of Africans in the Diaspora, promote youth and women empowerment, and position Africa’s creative economy as a driver of innovation and stronger global partnerships. “This is not just about celebrating culture, it is about creating opportunities, building networks, and forging sustainable collaborations that will shape the future of Africa on the global stage,” she said.
Festival highlights will include cultural showcases, youth leadership forums, and business networking sessions, as well as vibrant celebrations of African fashion, art, music, film, technology, and cuisine. NiDCOM is expected to present Nigeria’s thriving creative sector to the world, seeking strategic partnerships that align with the country’s economic and cultural development goals.
The African Cultural Festival, officially unveiled on March 26, 2025, at the Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg, will spotlight nine “Duduplugs” fashion, music, art, tech, film, dance, literature, food, and home representing the diverse threads of Africa’s cultural heritage.
