The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has officially confirmed the appointment of Yomi Odunuga as the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON.
In a statement signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, the OSGF clarified ongoing public discourse and reports concerning the appointment, asserting that the decision is formal and unequivocal.
“We hereby state unequivocally that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume, CON, has formally and definitively appointed Yomi Odunuga as his Personal Special Adviser on Media and Publicity,” the statement read.
According to the OSGF, Mr. Odunuga, in his new capacity, will provide strategic media advisory support to the SGF while working in close collaboration with the Director of Information and Public Relations to strengthen the Office’s overall communication framework.
The office further emphasized that the appointment is active and effective, urging the public and media stakeholders to disregard any previous statements or speculation to the contrary.
“In light of this clarification, we advise the public and media stakeholders to disregard any previous statements or speculations contradicting this formal announcement. Verified information will continue to be disseminated through official OSGF channels,” the statement added.
The OSGF expressed confidence in Mr. Odunuga’s ability to bring his wealth of experience to bear in advancing the communication objectives of the SGF and the broader goals of the Federal Government.
