The Honourable Minister of Defence, His Excellency Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, played host to two prominent delegations in his hometown over the weekend, as part of celebrations marking the peaceful completion of the 2025 Eid el-Kabeer festivities.

According to an official statement signed by Mati Ali, Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Honourable Minister, the first delegation comprised the Forum of Immediate Past Local Government Speakers from Jigawa State, led by Chairman Alhaji Ali Zarada Gagarawa. The forum included several political figures who served during Badaru’s second term as Governor of Jigawa State. During the visit, the group pledged their continued support for the Minister’s efforts in national service and offered prayers for divine guidance in his leadership journey, particularly in strengthening national security.

The meeting also had in attendance other notable political figures, including Alhaji Aminu Sani Gumel, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State; Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Jallo, Member representing Hadejia Constituency in the Jigawa State House of Assembly; and Hon. Ahmed Rufai, former Chairman of Gumel Local Government. These leaders reaffirmed their loyalty and pledged support for the Minister’s security and development initiatives.

In a related development, on Friday, 20th June 2025, the Dutse Emirate Traders Association paid a Sallah homage to the Minister at his residence in Kano. The delegation, led by Alhaji Yahaya Rungumau, praised the Honourable Minister for his unwavering commitment to national peace and stability. They particularly commended his role in fostering a secure and business-friendly environment, which they noted has enhanced trade and commercial activities across the country.

Responding to both delegations, Minister Badaru expressed profound appreciation for their solidarity and goodwill. He reiterated his firm resolve to continue working tirelessly for the safety and economic prosperity of all Nigerians.
