The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Christopher Gwabin Musa has extended his heartfelt greetings to Christian faithful on the auspicious occasion of Easter. In his Easter message, General Musa stated that as the celebration of Easter is marked, he wishes to felicitate with each and every one, whether at home, on duty, or in various theatres of operations across the country and beyond.

According to the CDS, Easter is a season of reflection and renewal, reminding us of the ultimate sacrifice made by our Lord Jesus Christ and His resurrection, which brings hope to all of humanity. This message of sacrifice, courage, and triumph over adversity is especially significant to members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN).

Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Guasu in a signed statement disclosed that General Musa emphasized that every day, members of the AFN embody the same spirit of selfless service through dedication to duty, loyalty to Nigeria, and unrelenting commitment to peace and national security. He commended their courage, resilience, and patriotism, even in the face of grave danger, maintaining that their sacrifices will not go unnoticed and that they continue to be the bedrock of the nation’s stability and unity.

The Defence Chief urged the AFN to use this period to reflect on the values that Easter represents – sacrifice, forgiveness, unity, and hope. He encouraged them to renew their commitment to duty, discipline, and professionalism as they work together to achieve the strategic objectives of the Armed Forces and secure the peace the nation desperately needs.

General Musa also remembered fallen comrades who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty, praying that their memories remain eternal and their service never be forgotten. He prayed for the quick recovery of those wounded in action and for strength and comfort for their families.

The CDS expressed pride in the efforts of the AFN and confidence in their ability to overcome challenges. “Together, we will continue to defend Nigeria’s sovereignty with honour and dignity,” he said. He prayed for this Easter to bring renewed strength, protection, and divine guidance in all endeavors.

Finally, General Musa thanked President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, for his unrelenting efforts in ensuring a safer and more prosperous nation.
