In a recent display of compassion and solidarity, and in a bid to provide material support and also serve as a reminder of the nation’s gratitude for the bravery and sacrifices of its armed forces, the President Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Oghogho Gwabin Musa visited the Wounded in Action (WIA) soldiers on 12 April 2025 at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital (44 NARHK).

Welcoming the President DEPOWA, the Acting Chief Medical Director, Brigadier General Godwin Ogoh, expressed gratitude to Mrs. Musa, and her team for their remarkable humanitarian efforts.

He acknowledged the organization’s consistent initiatives, which has significantly impacted the lives of WIA soldiers and further stated the importance of serving those who have dedicated their lives to maintaining national peace.

“as human beings, we serve ourselves, and there is no better people to serve today than those who have strived and are partaking in the peace of the Nation”. He said.
In her remarks, the President DEPOWA Mrs. Musa appreciated officers and staff of the 44 NARHK, she further encouraged them to remain steadfast and committed in service.
She further expressed DEPOWA’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by the soldiers and their families.

The visit included interactions with all the wounded in action soldiers in all the hospital wards and donation of essential items, aimed at providing comfort and support to the recovering personnel.









Present at the visit were the President Customs Officers Wives Association, Mrs Kikelomo Adeniyi, DEPOWA Members, Christopher Oghogho Foundation, among others.

Highlights of the event were the presentation of plaques, presentation of relief items and group photographs.
