Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have neutralised 15 terrorists in a precision air strike north-west of Pulka in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, as the military sustains its intelligence-led offensive against insurgents in the North-East.
The strike was conducted at about 11:50 p.m. on October 23, 2026, following credible intelligence and confirmed sightings of terrorist movements in the area, with ground troops subsequently moving in to exploit the location and consolidate the gains of the operation.
According to an official statement signed by Captain Mohammed Goni, Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, the operation formed part of sustained military efforts to disrupt terrorist activities and degrade their operational capabilities across the theatre.
The statement said the successful engagement demonstrated the effectiveness of intelligence-driven targeting and coordinated military action in restricting the movement of terrorist elements and denying them freedom of action.
It added that troops, supported by intelligence gathering and the coordinated deployment of military capabilities, would continue to maintain pressure on insurgents and strengthen the security environment across the North-East.
Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to defeating terrorism and insurgency, protecting law-abiding citizens and creating conditions for the restoration of normalcy and socio-economic activities in affected communities.
The Theatre Command also urged members of the public to sustain cooperation with security agencies by providing timely and credible information on suspicious movements and activities.
It stressed that continued collaboration between the military and civilian population remained critical to consolidating operational gains and achieving lasting peace and security across the North-East.
