President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has met with the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd.), in Lagos to review ongoing military operations and broader strategies to strengthen national security.
According to an official statement signed by Leah Katung-Babatunde, Special Adviser (Media) to the Honourable Minister of Defence, the President received General Musa at the Presidential Residence in Lagos for a high-level strategic meeting focused on the nation’s defence framework.
The meeting reviewed the progress of ongoing counter-insurgency and anti-banditry operations, while also considering measures to improve inter-agency security coordination and sustain peace across the country.
During the engagement, President Tinubu expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded in securing vulnerable communities and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing the necessary support to the Ministry of Defence and the nation’s security architecture.
The Defence Minister briefed the President on current defence initiatives, frontline operational logistics and proposed reforms aimed at boosting troop morale, modernising military hardware and strengthening defence infrastructure across the country.
General Musa thanked the President for his continued guidance and support for the nation’s security agencies, assuring that the Ministry of Defence remained committed to executing its mandate with resolve and integrity.
The meeting formed part of the President’s ongoing security briefings and policy alignment sessions with key government officials, aimed at ensuring coordinated and decisive responses to security and economic challenges across the country.
