The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arraigned luxury goods dealer and lifestyle influencer, Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, and two others over the alleged trafficking and attempted export of 184.5kg of cocaine estimated to be worth about ₦39 billion.
According to an official statement signed by Femi Babafemi, Director, Media and Advocacy, NDLEA, Afolabi was arraigned alongside Boniface Freeman Ochoche Sule and Ikechukwu Ekugo Patriarch on Friday, September 25, 2026, before Justice Ayokunle Olayinka Faji of the Federal High Court, Lagos.
The trio faced a 22-count charge bordering on cocaine trafficking, illegal export of narcotics and money laundering. They pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
The NDLEA alleged that the defendants conspired between July 28 and August 1, 2026, with Atandare Oladipupo Oluwarotimi and Latifat Yusuf, who have been arrested in London, to export 184.5kg of cocaine concealed in five consignments to the United Kingdom through a Lagos-based courier logistics firm.
The agency alleged that the consignments were shipped under the name Yemi Ejide, with Afolabi accused of procuring a staff member of BOT Express Logistics to facilitate the processing of the illicit shipment.
The charge sheet also alleged that Afolabi paid ₦13.2 million from a Mallamawa Ventures Zenith Bank account to BOT Express Logistics as consideration for the shipment.
Beyond the drug trafficking charges, Afolabi faces 16 counts of alleged money laundering involving several billions of naira reportedly moved through various companies and personal accounts.
The NDLEA alleged that the funds were used, among other purposes, to acquire motor vehicles and landed properties in an attempt to conceal the alleged proceeds of illicit drug activities.
The prosecution opposed the defendants’ bail applications and urged the court to remand them in custody pending trial, citing the gravity of the offences.
Justice Faji subsequently ordered that the defendants be remanded in the NDLEA facility and adjourned the matter until October 4, 2026, for ruling on their bail applications.
Afolabi, also known as KayCee Luxury, KayCee Lux, KC, Mr. Luxury and Yemi Ejide, was arrested by NDLEA operatives on August 13, 2026, while allegedly attempting to leave Nigeria on a business-class flight to Paris from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
His arrest followed the interception of the 184.5kg cocaine consignment, which the agency valued at about ₦39 billion.
The agency said a subsequent search of his Banana Island apartment led to the recovery of exotic vehicles, foreign currency and jewellery allegedly linked to proceeds of the illicit trade.
