The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, has evaluated facilities at the Customs Training College, Goron Dutse, Kano, ahead of the commencement of the Nigeria Customs Service’s (NCS) 2025/2026 Recruitment Training.
Adeniyi carried out the inspection on Saturday, August 29, 2026, as part of preparations to ensure that the College is adequately equipped to receive and train the incoming recruits under the 2026 Customs Basic Training Programme.
During the visit, the Comptroller-General assessed the condition of key facilities, ongoing projects, logistics and other operational requirements necessary for the effective conduct of the training programme.
The inspection was also aimed at determining the College’s overall readiness to provide a conducive environment for the recruits and support the Service’s efforts to strengthen professional capacity among newly recruited personnel.
Adeniyi was received by the Zonal Coordinator, Zone B, Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs Nsikan Umoh; Comptroller, Federal Operations Unit Zone B, Aminu Sule; Commandant of the Customs Training College, Deputy Comptroller of Customs Umar Atiku; as well as other principal officers and heads of units.
Speaking during the inspection, Adeniyi emphasised the need for the College to maintain a high standard of preparedness ahead of the recruits’ arrival. He stressed that adequate facilities and logistics were essential to delivering effective basic training and preparing the recruits for their responsibilities within the NCS.
The CGC reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to providing the resources required to enhance training, professional development and capacity building for its personnel.
In his briefing, the Commandant, Deputy Comptroller Umar Atiku, updated the CGC on the College’s activities, ongoing developments and measures being undertaken to prepare for the incoming recruits.
Adeniyi subsequently toured various sections of the institution, inspecting the available facilities and ongoing works while assessing their readiness ahead of the commencement of the training programme.
