The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd) has reaffirmed his commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and pledged to deploy his experience and administrative capacity towards the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential election.
General Musa made the commitment following his appointment as Secretary I of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election, describing the confidence reposed in him by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party leadership as a call to higher service.
According to an official statement signed by Leah Katung-Babatunde, Special Adviser (Media) to the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Musa expressed appreciation to the President and the APC leadership for the appointment, assuring the party hierarchy, stakeholders and supporters of his dedication to the responsibilities of the campaign council.
He pledged to execute the strategic tasks assigned to him with diligence, administrative rigour and single-minded focus, with the objective of contributing to the party’s success at the polls.
The Minister, however, emphasised that his political responsibility would run alongside his constitutional mandate as Minister of Defence, stressing that the protection of Nigeria’s territorial integrity and the lives and property of citizens remained absolute.
“National security remains our highest imperative,” General Musa stated, assuring that ongoing military operations, strategic reforms and inter-agency collaborations across the defence sector would continue unabated and with increased vigour.
He further reaffirmed his commitment to advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu vision for a safe and prosperous Nigeria.
General Musa called on APC members and patriotic citizens to remain united behind the administration, expressing confidence that the party would achieve victory at the 2027 polls while continuing to strengthen governance and security nationwide.
