The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Enugu State Chapter, has commended the Federal Commissioner representing Enugu State at the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Peter Ogbonna Eze, for what it described as his outstanding commitment to youth empowerment and human capital development.
According to an official statement signed by the Chairman of the NYCN, Enugu State Chapter, Comrade Barth Ebuka Okoh, JP, the Council said Hon. Eze, popularly known as Eze Mbanabo, has transformed the lives of many young people by creating opportunities for federal employment, skills acquisition, and professional development.
The Council stated that several youths from Enugu State have secured federal employment through opportunities facilitated by the Federal Commissioner, while many others have benefited from overseas programmes, seminars, workshops, professional training, and other capacity-building initiatives.
Describing the interventions as unprecedented, the NYCN said they have expanded opportunities for young people, restored hope, and equipped beneficiaries with the skills required to contribute meaningfully to national development.
“For the first time, Enugu youths are benefiting on such a remarkable scale through the office of the Federal Character Commission. Hon. Peter Eze has demonstrated that public office can be used to positively transform lives and build the future of young people,” the statement said.
The Council also applauded Hon. Eze for promoting fairness, transparency, and equal access to opportunities, noting that his leadership has strengthened confidence among youths that merit, rather than political connections, can open doors to success.
“Hon. Peter Eze has given hope to countless young people by proving that one does not need a political godfather to access opportunities and excel. His accessibility, fairness, and unwavering commitment to empowering ordinary youths have earned him the admiration and gratitude of the people,” the statement added.
The NYCN further described the Federal Commissioner as a leader whose investments in human capital are laying a solid foundation for sustainable development in Enugu State.
“The empowerment of young people is the greatest investment any leader can make. Through his selfless service and dedication, Hon. Peter Eze is raising a generation of productive and responsible citizens who will contribute to the progress of Enugu State and Nigeria,” the Council said.
The youth body expressed appreciation to the Federal Commissioner for his commitment to the welfare and advancement of Enugu youths and prayed for God to grant him greater wisdom, strength, good health, and more opportunities to continue serving the people of Enugu State and Nigeria.
