The Zamfara State Police Command has led a joint security crackdown on identified criminal hideouts in the Gusau metropolis, resulting in the arrest of 48 suspects as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security across the state.
According to an official statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Zamfara State Command, DSP Yazid Abubakar, the intelligence-led operation involved a coordinated show of force and raids conducted by the Police in collaboration with other security agencies.
The statement said the operation, carried out under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP A.M. Bello, PSC+, MNIPS, led to the arrest of 48 suspects, including two women, all of whom are currently undergoing investigation.
It added that those found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
During the operation, security operatives recovered 17 motorcycles, three bicycles, one generator, three speakers and three drums believed to have been abandoned by fleeing criminal elements.
The Commissioner of Police reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to eliminating criminal activities across Zamfara State and ensuring the safety of lives and property.
He warned individuals involved in criminal activities to desist or face decisive law enforcement action, stressing that the Command would continue to work with other security agencies to sustain intelligence-driven operations aimed at improving public safety across the state.
