Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested six suspected collaborators of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), received the surrender of the wife and son of a senior ISWAP finance operative, and recovered logistics items during a series of intelligence-led operations across Borno State.

According to an official statement signed by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, the operations underscore the military’s sustained efforts to disrupt terrorist financing and logistics networks in the North-East.

The statement said troops of 5 Brigade arrested the six suspected ISWAP collaborators in Damasak on July 27, 2026. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly generated funds for the terrorist group through the procurement and sale of cattle at designated markets in Gubio, Damasak and Ajuwango.

Items recovered from the suspects included a Volkswagen Golf vehicle, vehicle keys, four mobile phones, cow meat and ₦317,950 in cash. The suspects are currently in military custody and are undergoing further investigation.

In another operation conducted on July 29, the wife of a senior ISWAP finance operative and her 11-year-old son surrendered to troops of 3 Battalion through Kusuma Village. Military authorities said preliminary findings indicated that her husband, who reportedly served as ISWAP’s Chief Finance Officer in Jubillaram and surrendered on July 25, instructed his family to surrender after his successful escape from the terrorist enclave.

The military said the woman and her son have been screened and are undergoing further profiling in line with established procedures.

Meanwhile, troops of 145 Battalion, acting on credible intelligence, carried out a clearance operation in Turoh. The statement said the terrorists fled on sighting the advancing troops, abandoning logistics items during their escape.

Following exploitation of the area, troops recovered two motorcycles and large quantities of illicit hard drugs believed to have been used to support terrorist activities.

Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying intelligence-driven and offensive operations aimed at dismantling terrorist logistics and financial networks. The military also encouraged willing terrorist members and their families to surrender while urging members of the public to continue providing credible and timely information to support ongoing operations to restore lasting peace, security and stability across the North-East.
