The trial of social media influencer and relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, over an alleged N36 million fraud was on Wednesday adjourned until Monday, July 20, 2026, by the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos.
According to an official signed statement by the Head of Media and Publicity of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Dele Oyewale, Blessing CEO is standing trial before Justice D.I. Dipeolu on a two-count charge bordering on alleged obtaining by false pretence and alleged theft of N36 million.
At the resumed proceedings, counsel to the defendant, P.I. Nwafuru, informed the court that officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service had notified him that his client was ill and was therefore unable to attend the hearing.
He requested an adjournment and assured the court that a medical report would be presented at the next sitting.
Justice D.I. Dipeolu subsequently granted the application and adjourned the matter until July 20, 2026, for the continuation of trial.
One of the charges alleges that Blessing CEO, between July 14 and 17, 2024, obtained N36 million from Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye under the false pretence of leasing a six-bedroom detached duplex located at No. 1B, Tunbosun Osobu Street, Off Kuboye Road, Lekki, Lagos State.
The EFCC alleged that the representation was false and that the offence contravenes Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006.
