The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration through enhanced strategic communication in support of national security objectives.
According to an official statement signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the commitment was reaffirmed during a courtesy visit by the newly appointed Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu, to the NAF Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.
The statement said the meeting underscored the critical role of coordinated communication, information sharing and public engagement in fostering national security and strengthening public confidence in Nigeria’s security institutions.
During the engagement, both senior public affairs officials emphasised the need for greater synergy in communicating the activities and strategic objectives of their respective organisations, noting that closer collaboration would reinforce public trust, counter misinformation and promote a more unified national security narrative.
CSP Iniedu highlighted the Nigeria Police Force’s ongoing drive towards community-led and intelligence-driven policing, aimed at strengthening partnerships with citizens, improving intelligence gathering and promoting proactive policing nationwide.
He also encouraged members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the general public to utilise the Nigeria Police Force Complaint Response Unit as a credible platform for reporting complaints, providing information and offering feedback to enhance police accountability and service delivery.
Air Commodore Ejodame welcomed the initiative, stressing that effective strategic communication and inter-agency cooperation remain indispensable in addressing contemporary security challenges and advancing national development.
He noted that collaboration among security institutions is essential to building public confidence, strengthening national resilience and ensuring the successful attainment of shared national security objectives.
The visit concluded with an exchange of goodwill messages to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, and the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, reaffirming the shared resolve of both organisations to deepen cooperation in the overall interest of national security and sustainable national development.
