The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has reaffirmed his commitment to personnel welfare as a critical driver of operational effectiveness, declaring that financially secure personnel are better positioned to deliver decisive air power in defence of the nation.
Air Marshal Aneke made the remark on Thursday, June 25, 2026, while receiving the Managing Director of Ecobank Nigeria, Mr. Bolaji Lawal, and his delegation during a courtesy visit to Headquarters Nigerian Air Force in Abuja.
The Chief of the Air Staff described Ecobank as a valued strategic partner whose financial solutions have continued to support the financial well-being of officers, airmen, airwomen, and civilian staff of the Nigerian Air Force, thereby contributing to a more motivated, productive, and mission-focused workforce.
“Financially secure personnel are better able to deliver decisive air power,” Air Marshal Aneke stated, underscoring the importance of welfare initiatives in sustaining operational readiness and professional excellence across the Service.
The Air Chief commended Mr. Lawal and the Ecobank team for their sustained support towards enhancing the welfare of Nigerian Air Force personnel and welcomed the bank’s commitment to deepening its partnership with the Service.
He noted that strategic collaborations with reputable institutions remain essential in advancing the welfare of personnel and strengthening the overall effectiveness of the Nigerian Air Force.
In his remarks, the Managing Director of Ecobank Nigeria, Mr. Bolaji Lawal, expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Air Force for the confidence reposed in the bank over the years.
