The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has postponed the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Orientation Course for Prospective Corps Members deployed to Niger State due to ongoing renovation works at the state orientation camp.
According to an official signed statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations, NYSC, Caroline Embu, the postponement became necessary following extensive damage caused by a recent windstorm to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Paiko.
The statement explained that the Niger State Government is currently undertaking renovation and rehabilitation works at the camp to restore the damaged facilities and ensure a safe environment for corps members.
As a result, NYSC Management has commenced urgent arrangements to secure an alternative venue for the orientation exercise.
The scheme assured affected Prospective Corps Members that a new commencement date and other relevant details regarding the orientation course would be communicated in due course.
NYSC Management expressed regret over any inconvenience the postponement may cause to Prospective Corps Members and their families, while appreciating their understanding, patience, and cooperation during the period.
The scheme reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of corps members and providing a conducive environment for the successful conduct of orientation activities.
