The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON, has called on stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress and Nigerians to rally support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing the administration’s ongoing reforms and commitment to national development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to an official signed statement by the Head of Information and Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chris Ugwuegbulam, Senator Akume made the appeal while addressing APC delegates, party stakeholders, and supporters during separate presidential primary engagements held in Wanune, Makurdi South, and Makurdi Central in Benue State.
The statement noted that the SGF was received by large crowds of party faithful and supporters across the venues, where he emphasized the need for overwhelming support for President Tinubu ahead of the forthcoming election.
Senator Akume urged party members and Nigerians not to be distracted by critics of the administration, insisting that President Tinubu remains committed to repositioning the country through bold economic and developmental reforms.
He stated that the achievements recorded by the administration within a relatively short period reflected the President’s determination to place Nigeria on the path of sustainable growth and long-term prosperity.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shown courage and commitment in implementing policies and reforms aimed at building a stronger and more resilient nation. This is a period that requires support, cooperation, and unity of purpose from all stakeholders,” Akume stated.
Speaking on reforms in the education sector, the SGF described the establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund as a landmark initiative and one of the first of its kind on the African continent.
According to him, the programme demonstrates the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring that Nigerian students have access to quality education and opportunities for advancement regardless of their financial background.
Also speaking at Makurdi Central, Senator Jack Tilley-Gyado said the meeting was convened to mobilise support for President Tinubu in order to secure victory at the APC presidential primaries and enable the continuation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He assured Senator Akume and President Tinubu of the unwavering support of party members and stakeholders in the area.
