The Nigeria Police Force has disclaimed a purported “AFRIPOL 2026” programme currently being circulated online, describing it as unauthorized and not endorsed by the Force.
According to an official signed statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid, the Nigeria Police Force categorically stated that it neither approved, endorsed nor authorized the programme in any form.
The statement also condemned the unauthorized use of the name “AFRIPOL,” noting that AFRIPOL is globally recognized as the African Union Mechanism for Police Cooperation established under the framework of the African Union and not a platform for private or unauthorized programmes.
DCP Anthony Placid further disclosed that the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force did not authorize the use of the image of the Inspector-General of Police, the official logo, or the identity of the Force in connection with the said programme.
The Police advised members of the public and corporate organizations to disregard the publication and refrain from any form of sponsorship, payment, or engagement relating to the event.
The Force reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the integrity of its institutional identity and urged citizens to verify the authenticity of programmes or publications claiming affiliation with the Nigeria Police Force through official communication channels.
