The Commander, Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Peter Malla, has called on members of the Examination Panel for the Captain to Major Written Promotion Examination 2026 to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and fairness in the conduct of the exercise.
According to an official signed statement by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, TRADOC NA, Felicia Daniel, Major General Malla made the charge while addressing participants at the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport, Benin City, on 3 May 2026, where he also served as Examination President.
He stressed that transparency and strict adherence to discipline remain fundamental to the credibility of the promotion process, warning against any form of compromise in the discharge of duties.
The TRADOC Commander further emphasised that candidates must be thoroughly assessed on leadership competence, critical thinking, and their ability to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges. He noted that the examination process is a key component in preparing officers for higher responsibilities, consistent with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy of building a more professional, adaptable, combat-ready, and resilient force.
Major General Malla also directed members of the examination panel to strictly comply with the provisions of the Nigerian Army Charter for Promotion Examinations 2022 (Revised), expressing confidence that the process would produce a credible outcome. He further appreciated the Chief of Army Staff for his continued support to training and doctrinal development in the Army.
Earlier, the host and Commandant, Major General Adebayo Adegbite, described the opportunity to host the examination as a privilege and reaffirmed the institution’s readiness and commitment to ensuring a smooth and successful conduct of the exercise.
