The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has conducted a precision air operation that destroyed a terrorist enclave linked to notorious kingpin Abasu Aiki in Katsina State, in what authorities described as a significant setback to insurgent logistics and movement in the North-West.

According to an official signed statement by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the operation was carried out on 1 May 2026 by the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 2, targeting a hideout located within the Dan-Aji Forest in Faskari Local Government Area.

The statement explained that the strike followed sustained and credible intelligence indicating renewed terrorist activity in the area. The targeted location was identified as a logistics hub and transit point for fighters loyal to Abasu Aiki, who have been linked to repeated attacks on communities and security personnel along the Faskari, Kankara and Funtua axis.

Acting on confirmed intelligence, NAF air assets reportedly tracked armed terrorists on motorcycles alongside other fighters within the enclave before executing a coordinated precision strike on both personnel and their support infrastructure.

Post-strike Battle Damage Assessment indicated that several terrorists were neutralised, while the logistics base and associated structures were completely destroyed, with secondary explosions and fires observed at the site.

The Air Force stated that the operation has significantly disrupted terrorist mobility and supply chains in the region, reaffirming its commitment to sustaining pressure on criminal elements, dismantling their operational networks, and supporting broader efforts to restore peace and security across the North-West.
