The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has called on Nigerians to embrace the values of love, light, and hope exemplified by Christ as the nation marks Christmas 2025. He urged citizens to channel these values into collective action to strengthen national unity, promote progress, and confront societal challenges, particularly corruption.
In an official Christmas message delivered in Abuja on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, Olukoyede emphasized the need for Nigerians to draw inspiration from Christ’s example. According to an official statement signed by the EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the EFCC Chairman said, “Nigeria needs the refreshing hope, love and light which Christ brought to the entire world.”
He encouraged citizens to unite in building a stronger, more prosperous, and respected nation, stressing that corruption remains a major impediment to national growth. Olukoyede called for renewed efforts to confront corrupt practices, noting that only through collective commitment can the “abundant life of God manifest” in Nigeria.
Highlighting the government’s development agenda, Olukoyede urged Nigerians to embrace the Renewed Hope initiative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as a catalyst for national revival. “Let the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr. President ignite fresh hopes of revival in us that Nigeria will rise again,” he stated.
The EFCC Chairman’s message reinforces the importance of moral values, patriotism, and civic responsibility during the festive season, reminding Nigerians that the principles of love, light, and hope can serve as a foundation for personal growth, social cohesion, and the nation’s advancement.
Olukoyede concluded his message by wishing all Nigerians a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with optimism, unity, and the determination to contribute positively to the nation’s development.
