The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected car thieves and recovered a stolen truck head following swift intelligence-led operations carried out on Thursday, December 4, 2025. According to an official statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, the Command received credible information at about 4:00 a.m. regarding the stolen vehicle, prompting detectives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to immediately launch a coordinated response.

By 9:00 p.m. the same day, operatives successfully apprehended three suspects believed to be connected to the theft. The stolen truck head was subsequently recovered, while the suspects were taken into custody for further investigation. Preliminary findings revealed that the vehicle was stolen from Awka, Anambra State, and driven to Lafia, where it was to be sold to unsuspecting buyers before the police intercepted the suspects.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, psc, mnips, commended the operatives for their professionalism, timely intervention, and dedication to duty. He urged the rightful owner of the vehicle to report to the Nasarawa State Police Command Headquarters on Shendam Road, Lafia, with valid proof of ownership to reclaim the recovered truck head.

CP Mohammed also reassured residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property. He expressed gratitude to members of the public for their continued cooperation and support toward strengthening security efforts across the state.
