The Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Professor Charles Anosike, has congratulated management and staff of the Agency who were inducted as Associate and Full Members of the Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria (Chartered), with ten senior officials also conferred as Fellows at the 2025 Strategists Forum held in Abuja on Friday, 28th November 2025.

A total of fifty-one Fellows were formally invested during the ceremony, including ten distinguished members of NiMet’s leadership. The new Fellows from the Agency are: Engr. Hamid Olayinka Abdulkareem, Director of Engineering & Technical Services; Mrs. Glory Amarachi Onyegbule, Director of Applied Meteorological Services; Akoji Alex Yusuf, Director of Finance & Accounts; Dr. Nasiru Sani, Director of Human Resources Management & Administration; Aransola Abdulatif Yusuf, General Manager, Commercial; Dr. Emmanuel O. Uket, Special Assistant on General Services to the DG/CEO; Hauwa Zakari, Deputy General Manager, Administration (Kano Office); Dr. Balarabe Abubakar Murktar, Registrar, MIST Katsina; Sani Sadiq Abubakar, Deputy General Manager, Administration; and Barrister Odumodu Ebele Nwamaka, Deputy General Manager, Legal Services.

Professor Anosike, who is himself a Fellow of the Institute, had provided the platform and institutional support that enabled interested NiMet staff to pursue professional membership across the various categories. His encouragement, the Agency noted, is particularly impactful as membership of reputable professional bodies remains pivotal for career development, especially for officers in the Administrative Cadre.

Recognised for his commitment to administrative efficiency and continuous improvement, Professor Anosike has consistently stressed the importance of optimally managing resources, enhancing internal processes, and ensuring that NiMet’s operations run with speed, accuracy and effectiveness to strengthen service delivery to the public.

This focus on strategic improvement was further reinforced at the 2025 Strategists Forum, which was themed “Creating National Strategic Advantage for Sustainable Development through Public–Private Partnership.” Represented at the event by Professor Weli, Director of Weather Forecasting Services, the DG used his goodwill message to reiterate NiMet’s commitment to adopting strategic frameworks that support excellence, innovation and sustainable national development.
