NEMA Provides Relief to Persons Affected by Banditry Attack in Kaduna.

As part of living up to its mandate of tackling disaster related issues, the National Emergency Management Agency has said that no fewer than 400 Households in Saya Saya Community of Ikara Local Government Area in Kaduna has recently received relief materials approved by the Federal Government following attack unleashed by suspected bandits in the area.

The relief materials distributed to the affected person’s through a direct distribution exercise carried out by staff of NEMA North West Zone comprises of Food, Non Food items and Building materials

The Zonal Coordinator, NEMA NWZ, Alhaji Abbani Imam Garki extended the sympathy of the agency’s Director General, Mustapha Habib Ahmed on behalf of the Federal Government and prayed for lasting peace in the affected communities. He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the materials appropriately to cushion their plight.

The Zonal Coordinator who was represented by the Assistant Chief Admin Officer, Ruqayya Amin led the exercise in presence of other stakeholders and the member representing Ikara/Kubau Federal Constituency, Aliyu Mustapha Abdullahi and other Stakeholders

The member on behalf of the beneficiaries, appreciated and commended NEMA’s prompt response to distressed persons and continuous support in taking measures to tackle disasters across the country

Recall that Saya Saya community was attacked by armed bandits leading to the killing of nine worshippers in a Mosque and injuring of many people.
