The Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu has advised Corps Members to contribute meaningfully to the development of their host communities.

He said all Corps Members must participate actively in Community Development Service, which is one of the four cardinal programmes of the Scheme.

Acting Director Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu in an official signed statement, disclosed that General Nafiu stated this while addressing Corps Members at Katsina State Orientation Camp, Mani road, Katsina.

He implored them to study their host communities and initiate laudable projects that would improve the standard of living of the residents.

The Director General admonished the Corps Members to live peacefully with everyone in their respective host communities, and foster lasting relationships that would lead to fond memories.

He also warned them against improper dressing, adding that violators of NYSC dress code would be sanctioned.

While presenting the Camp situation report to the Director General, the NYSC Katsina State Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Saidu said the cooperation between the camp officials and all Corps Members had been tremendous.

“A total of 1,136 Corps Members comprising 712 males and 415 females have been integrated into all Camp committees”, he said.
