The Federal Ministry of Defence has reaffirmed its commitment to technology-driven innovation and strategic partnerships as it explores digital solutions with Dell Technologies to strengthen national security and improve military operations.
The commitment was reiterated on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, during Dell Technologies’ Innovate with Data programme held at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, where the ministry highlighted the role of technology in enhancing operational efficiency, intelligence gathering and decision-making.
According to an official statement signed by Enderline Chukwu, Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd.), OFR, was represented at the event by his Senior Special Adviser on Technology and Innovation, Air Vice Marshal Bulus.
Musa said the ministry was pursuing a strategic approach to defence management built around three key pillars: enhancing joint operational synergy among the Armed Forces, improving the welfare and morale of military personnel, and promoting intelligence-driven, technology-enabled defence.
He described the technology component as critical to achieving the ministry’s objectives, stressing the need to leverage innovation and digital solutions to improve the effectiveness of military operations.
The minister also disclosed that the ministry was hosting a two-day technology workshop in collaboration with Dell Technologies, reflecting its commitment to exploring practical solutions that can support the Armed Forces and strengthen national security.
He emphasised the importance of partnerships with credible private-sector organisations, alongside local content development and indigenous capacity building, to support the adoption of relevant technologies within the defence sector.
During the programme, Dell Technologies presented its unified, end-to-end technology platform, designed to help organisations manage data and improve their capacity to respond swiftly to operational demands.
The engagement provided an opportunity for the ministry to explore how digital infrastructure and data-driven solutions could support mission readiness, strengthen information management and improve responses to emerging security challenges.
The ministry’s engagement with Dell Technologies aligns with its broader efforts to deepen innovation, expand strategic partnerships and build technology-enabled capabilities in support of Nigeria’s defence and national security objectives.
