The Military Pensions Board (MPB) has held a consultative meeting with representatives of military veterans’ associations to clarify issues surrounding the implementation of newly approved pension rates.
The meeting, held on Friday, October 9, 2026, provided an opportunity for the Board to explain the implementation process, address concerns raised by the veterans’ representatives and promote a shared understanding of the new pension rates.
According to an official statement signed by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Squadron Leader Aliyu Mohammed, the engagement also reinforced the importance of sustained dialogue, mutual understanding and the use of established communication channels in resolving pension-related concerns.
During the meeting, representatives of the military veterans’ associations expressed their understanding of the explanations provided by the Board and appreciated the opportunity to engage directly with its officials.
The discussions focused on clarifying issues surrounding the new pension rates and strengthening communication between the Board and military pensioners to facilitate the resolution of concerns arising from the implementation process.
The Military Pensions Board reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of military pensioners, assuring the representatives of its dedication to transparent communication, constructive engagement and the timely resolution of issues within its mandate.
