The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has expressed solidarity with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) following the tragic crash involving a NAF 931 aircraft, which claimed 25 lives.
Disu conveyed the condolences of the Nigeria Police Force on Friday, October 9, 2026, during a condolence visit to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke.
According to an official statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Iniedu, the IGP extended the sympathies of the Nigeria Police Force to the leadership, officers and personnel of the Nigerian Air Force, as well as the families of those who lost their lives in the crash.
During the visit, Disu expressed the Force’s solidarity with the Nigerian Air Force at the difficult time, while praying for strength and comfort for the bereaved families and colleagues of the deceased.
He also reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to standing with sister security agencies during difficult moments, particularly following incidents involving the loss of personnel in the line of duty.
The statement noted that the Force remains in solidarity with the Nigerian Air Force as it mourns the deceased, while honouring the service and sacrifice of the personnel who lost their lives in the tragic incident.
