Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued abducted persons following a swift response to a terrorist attack along the Anka–Gadan Manya Road in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The troops, who were conducting a routine patrol on September 4, 2026, reportedly observed armed bandits attacking two persons travelling on a motorcycle.

According to the operational account, the troops immediately mobilised and moved towards the scene, forcing the attackers to flee into the surrounding terrain and abandon their captives.

The victims were subsequently rescued by the troops and secured from further harm.

Following the incident, security forces have intensified patrols and other operations across the general area to deny criminal elements freedom of movement and prevent further attacks on residents.

The operation underscores the continued efforts by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt terrorist and bandit activities and protect communities across the region.
