The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has commended the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) for providing financial support to widows of fallen heroes of the Armed Forces and Police.
Aneke gave the commendation on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he joined senior military and security leaders for the second edition of the RHI Presentation of Financial Support to Widows of Fallen Heroes of the Armed Forces and Police.
The initiative, organised by the Office of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the RHI Social Investment Programme, is aimed at supporting families of security personnel who lost their lives in the service of the nation.
The CAS said the gesture demonstrated the nation’s appreciation for the sacrifices made by fallen personnel, while providing meaningful assistance to the families they left behind.
He noted that sustained support for the widows and families of fallen heroes was important to honouring the legacy of the deceased personnel and reinforcing the nation’s commitment to their welfare and wellbeing.
The event brought together senior military and security officials, as well as beneficiaries of the financial support, in recognition of the sacrifices made by personnel who paid the ultimate price in service to Nigeria.
