The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has graduated 50 officers from the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada, with two officers from the Service’s National Public Relations Unit emerging as the Overall Best and Second Best Graduating Students in Senior Course 14/2026.
The graduation ceremony, held on Friday, 26 June 2026, at the Ahmed Makarfi Hall of the College in Gwagwalada, marked the successful completion of one of the Service’s most rigorous professional training programmes.
A major highlight of the event was the outstanding performance of Chief Superintendent of Customs Ridwan Yusuf, who emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student, while Chief Superintendent of Customs Nuruddeen Sa’idu was named the Second Best Graduating Student. Both officers are members of the Nigeria Customs Service National Public Relations Unit, underscoring the Unit’s growing reputation for excellence and professionalism.
Representing the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, the Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs Sulaiman Chiroma, congratulated the graduating officers on their achievement and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them through exemplary service.
He described the course as one of the Service’s most demanding professional development programmes and charged the officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline and integrity in the discharge of their duties.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. On behalf of the Comptroller-General of Customs, I urge you to remain mission-focused and continue to serve the nation with honesty, integrity and dedication,” he said.
Earlier, the Commandant of the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs Duwoh Gaura, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to producing competent and forward-looking officers in line with the Comptroller-General’s vision of building a more efficient, technology-driven and professional Nigeria Customs Service.
He noted that the College would continue to equip officers with the strategic leadership and operational competencies required to address the evolving demands of customs administration, trade facilitation and border security.
The graduation represents another milestone in the Nigeria Customs Service’s sustained investment in human capacity development and its commitment to strengthening institutional excellence through continuous professional education.
As part of activities marking the completion of the course, the College had earlier hosted a Regimental Dinner on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, at the NCCSC Hotel, Gwagwalada, in honour of the graduating officers. The event brought together members of the Service’s Management Team, senior officers and invited guests and was attended by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, who was represented by Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs Sulaiman Chiroma.
