The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has joined the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, heads of security and intelligence agencies, as well as senior Nigerian and United Kingdom officials at the Fourth Nigeria–UK Security and Defence Partnership (SDP4) Dialogue held at the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Abuja.

The high-level dialogue, which commenced on 22 June and concludes on 24 June 2026, was led by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, with reflections from the United Kingdom National Security Adviser, Jonathan Powell.

The engagement brought together key stakeholders from both countries to review existing areas of cooperation and explore new strategies for addressing emerging security challenges through strengthened bilateral collaboration.

Discussions focused on enhancing practical cooperation in defence, counter-terrorism, intelligence sharing, cyber security, hybrid threat response, and institutional capacity building. Participants also emphasized the importance of a whole-of-government approach in tackling national and regional security concerns.

The dialogue reaffirmed the enduring strategic partnership between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, highlighting the commitment of both nations to promoting regional stability, strengthening resilience, and advancing sustainable peace through trusted cooperation and mutually beneficial security arrangements.

The participation of Air Marshal Aneke alongside other senior military and security leaders underscores Nigeria’s continued commitment to leveraging international partnerships in support of national security objectives and collective efforts to address evolving threats.
