Troops of Headquarters 63 Brigade/Sector 1 Joint Task Force, South South Operation DELTA SAFE, have recovered seven rifles and two motorcycles during a successful raid operation conducted in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to an official signed statement by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 63 Brigade, Captain Iliyasu Bawa-Rijau, the operation was carried out on June 4, 2026, following credible intelligence on the activities of criminal elements in the area.
The statement disclosed that the arms and motorcycles were discovered in an abandoned police station within the Ibusa community during the operation.
The recovery, according to military authorities, forms part of ongoing efforts by security forces to rid Delta State of criminal elements and enhance safety and security across the region.
Commending the troops for their resilience, vigilance, and professionalism, the Commander, 63 Brigade, Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, urged personnel to sustain the current operational momentum and maintain relentless pressure on criminal elements operating within the brigade’s area of responsibility.
Brigadier General Shonibare reiterated the formation’s unwavering commitment to denying criminals freedom of action and ensuring that communities remain secure. He also warned individuals and groups involved in illegal possession of arms or other criminal activities that they would face the full weight of the law.
The Brigade assured residents of its continued determination to work with other security agencies and stakeholders to safeguard lives and property while sustaining operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks across Delta State.
