The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has launched new digital customer support channels aimed at improving accessibility, responsiveness, and service delivery for Nigerians and legal residents seeking assistance on National Identification Number (NIN) related matters.

According to an official signed statement by Head, Corporate Communications Unit of NIMC, Kayode Adegoke, the Commission introduced a Live Chat feature on its official website alongside an official WhatsApp support platform as part of ongoing reforms and digital transformation initiatives under the leadership of the Director General and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote.

The statement explained that the new platforms are designed to provide faster, more convenient, and real-time support services to members of the public requiring information and assistance on identity management services.

Members of the public can now access support through the Live Chat feature on the official NIMC website and via the Commission’s official WhatsApp support line on +234 701 566 6971.

NIMC stated that the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which prioritises improved public sector efficiency and enhanced access to government services through technology-driven solutions.

The Commission noted that the newly introduced support channels would provide prompt responses to enquiries, real-time guidance, and improved customer interaction regardless of location or time, thereby reducing the need for physical visits to enrolment and service centres.

According to the statement, the platforms are also expected to enhance operational efficiency while improving user experience for Nigerians and legal residents interacting with the Commission.

NIMC further reaffirmed its commitment to implementing strategic reforms and innovative digital solutions aimed at expanding access to identity management services, strengthening public trust, and improving service delivery nationwide.

The Commission encouraged citizens to utilise only its official communication channels for verified information, assistance, and updates relating to NIN services and other identity management matters.

It also cautioned members of the public to remain vigilant against misinformation and fraudulent activities by engaging strictly through authorised NIMC platforms.
