The Theatre Command of Operation Hadin Kai has dismissed reports alleging poor feeding of troops deployed in the North-East, describing the claims as misleading and capable of undermining morale within the ranks.

The Theatre Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, said the welfare of personnel remains a central priority of the command and is strictly monitored through established administrative and logistics structures designed to ensure accountability in the provision of rations.

He explained that the feeding arrangements for troops are not left to chance, noting that structured food committees have been put in place across formations and operational locations to supervise the procurement, preparation, distribution, and quality control of meals supplied to personnel in the field. According to him, the system is intended to guarantee transparency and prevent any form of negligence in the supply chain.

Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar further clarified that troops under Operation Hadin Kai continue to receive full meal entitlements in line with approved operational standards. He stressed that where lapses occur, they are promptly addressed and appropriate administrative measures are taken to enforce discipline and compliance within the logistics framework.

He linked the welfare architecture to the “Soldier First” policy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, noting that the policy places troop welfare at the core of operational planning and execution. He added that the approach is designed to ensure that soldiers remain well supported, motivated, and combat-ready in ongoing counter-insurgency operations.

The Theatre Commander cautioned against the spread of unverified information regarding military welfare and operations, warning that such narratives could distort public understanding and inadvertently affect troop morale. He urged members of the public to rely on official and verified sources when seeking information on military activities in the North-East.

Operation Hadin Kai reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the welfare of its personnel while maintaining operational effectiveness in the ongoing fight against insurgency across the theatre.
