The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has intensified its nationwide mobilisation drive as key political stakeholders from Gombe and Nasarawa states, alongside youth representatives from the Federal Capital Territory, visited the party’s national leadership to strengthen grassroots engagement and expand membership ahead of future political contests.
During the visit, stakeholders from Gombe State led by the party’s National Vice Chairman, Dr. Danlami Arabs, and the National Women Leader, Mrs. Dudu Manuga, met with the national leadership as part of ongoing mobilisation efforts across the country.
The delegation also accompanied a gubernatorial aspirant, Dr. Babayo Ardo, who held discussions with the party’s leadership on the political direction of the state and strategies for strengthening the party’s presence.
Speaking during the engagement, the party leadership commended officials of the Gombe State chapter for their commitment and organisational efforts, noting that the state structure was progressing well.
The leadership urged party officials and stakeholders in the state to intensify grassroots mobilisation and expand outreach efforts across communities in order to consolidate the party’s growing support base.
“Gombe is on course and doing well. I commend the State officials for their efforts and enjoin them to step up mobilisation across the state,” the leadership said.
In a similar development, the party also received a delegation from Nasarawa State led by the state chairman, Hon. Dogo Shammah, a former Commissioner for Information who recently resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the NDC.
Shammah was accompanied by the state secretary, Hon. Osokunu, who previously served as a local government council chairman.
During the meeting, the Nasarawa delegation briefed the national leadership on the party’s activities and expansion efforts in the state.
The leadership commended the progress made by the Nasarawa chapter, describing the state as one of the areas where the party’s structures were gaining significant momentum.
“Nasarawa is doing well and progressing strongly. We commend them for their efforts and encourage them to sustain and deepen mobilisation for the NDC,” the leadership stated.
The party also received a delegation of young and enthusiastic members from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), including an aspirant for the House of Representatives, Hon. Jesse Williams Ejemot, who visited to express support and solidarity with the party’s leadership.
Addressing the group, the leadership encouraged the young members and other stakeholders in the FCT to intensify mobilisation efforts and work collaboratively to strengthen the party’s presence in the territory.
They also emphasised the importance of increasing membership registration and engaging more citizens, particularly young people and women, in the political movement.
“The NDC is open to all aspirants, particularly young people and women, and everyone who desires change is welcome on board,” the leadership said.
The party further urged Nigerians across the country to take advantage of the ongoing nationwide membership registration to formally join the movement.
According to the leadership, the NDC is committed to building a broad-based political platform that reflects the aspirations of ordinary Nigerians and promotes inclusive participation in governance.
“Together, we will build a strong, inclusive and people-driven political movement that delivers real change for all Nigerians,” the leadership added, while thanking citizens for their growing confidence and belief in the party.
