The Chairman of the Marketing Committee of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the forthcoming Nigeria Archery Championship, Ambassador Augustine Chigbolu, has called on corporate organisations, well-meaning Nigerians, and political leaders to support the successful hosting of the event scheduled to hold in Abuja between the 20th to the 26th of April, 2026 in Abuja…
Ambassador Chigbolu, who also serves as the 1st Vice President of the Nigeria Archery Federation, made the appeal while outlining preparations for the national championship, which is expected to attract top archers from across the country.
He emphasised that the championship presents a unique opportunity to promote sports development, discover new talents, and strengthen Nigeria’s presence in international archery competitions. According to him, the event will also serve as a platform to engage youths positively, foster unity, and boost the profile of archery as a growing sport in the country.
The LOC chairman noted that hosting the championship would have economic and social benefits, including increased local business activities and tourism within the Federal Capital Territory.
Chigbolu further stressed that adequate funding and sponsorship are critical to ensuring a world-class event, urging stakeholders to partner with the organisers in delivering a successful and memorable championship.
He reassured that the organising committee is committed to putting in place necessary logistics and facilities to meet international standards, adding that the championship will showcase Nigeria’s capacity to host major sporting events
