Barcelona had the chance to cement second place in La Liga with a win over Girona tonight as they travelled to the other side of the city to clash horns with their domestic rivals.
Following a 2-4 defeat against them at home earlier this season, many would have expected Barca to be motivated and seeking a dominant win today, but the Catalans came up short, losing 4-2 once again.
Despite controlling the game for an hour and going up 1-2 Barcelona started making rookie mistakes as Portu ran away with the game scoring two and assisting one in the win, the loss to Girona confirmed Rivals Real Madrid as the 36th time champions of LaLiga.
