The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to strengthening international partnerships aimed at enhancing security cooperation, intelligence sharing, and operational capacity.
The IGP made this known while receiving a delegation from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Nigeria, led by the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, during a courtesy visit to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The visit provided an opportunity for high-level bilateral engagement between the Nigeria Police leadership and the Chinese diplomatic mission, with discussions focusing on strengthening collaboration in key areas including security cooperation, intelligence sharing, and capacity building for law enforcement personnel.
During the meeting, IGP Disu highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration with international partners in addressing emerging security threats and complex transnational crimes. He stressed that strategic partnerships remain vital in enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force and improving its ability to respond to evolving security challenges.

The police chief further noted that cooperation with global partners such as China contributes significantly to knowledge exchange, training opportunities, and the adoption of modern policing techniques that support the Force’s ongoing reforms and professional development initiatives.
Ambassador Yu Dunhai, who led the Chinese delegation, reaffirmed China’s commitment to deepening its engagement with Nigeria in areas that promote peace, security, and institutional capacity. The envoy expressed appreciation for the existing partnership between both countries and underscored the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration between the two sides.
The meeting further reflects the growing diplomatic and security cooperation between Nigeria and China, particularly in areas that strengthen institutional capacity and support collective efforts toward maintaining peace, stability, and public safety.
