Galaxy Backbone Limited has commended the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for its enduring contributions to national unity and socio-economic development, while seeking a strategic partnership to strengthen the Scheme’s digital infrastructure nationwide.

In an official signed statement, Director, Information and Public Relations of the NYSC, Caroline Embu, disclosed that the Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone, Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja.

Professor Adeyanju praised the NYSC for its pivotal role in fostering national integration through its deployment policy, which posts Corps Members to serve in states other than their states of origin. He noted that despite operational challenges over the years, the policy has continued to add tremendous value to national cohesion and cross-cultural understanding.

He described the Scheme as a critical institution in Nigeria’s nation-building architecture, acknowledging its impact in nurturing a generation of young Nigerians committed to unity and development.

The Galaxy Backbone CEO explained that his organisation serves as the Federal Government’s digital infrastructural platform, providing secure internet and data services to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). He emphasised that the company delivers connectivity solutions with maximum security, ensuring that data entrusted to it is protected in line with Nigerian laws and regulatory frameworks.

Appealing for collaboration, Adeyanju expressed readiness to partner with the NYSC to enhance its digital operations across the country. “We are open to partnership, and we will ensure that NYSC State Secretariats are operating with enhanced digital infrastructure,” he said.

Responding, the Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, described the Scheme as a household name that has consistently built a formidable workforce for Nigeria. He reiterated the NYSC’s commitment to initiatives that strengthen its mandate and operational efficiency.

Brigadier General Nafiu lauded Galaxy Backbone for its digital initiatives and forward-looking approach, affirming that the Scheme remains open to partnerships with agencies capable of adding value to its programmes and service delivery.

He assured the visiting delegation that the NYSC Management would give due consideration to the proposed partnership in a bid to further modernise its processes and enhance service effectiveness nationwide.
