The Honourable Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Esq., on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), at his office in Abuja, underscoring the importance of collaboration among key ministries in advancing national development.
According to an official statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the Honourable Minister of State for Works, the visit was aimed at strengthening inter-ministerial cooperation and fostering deeper mutual understanding between the Ministry of Works and the Ministry of Defence, particularly in areas of national interest such as infrastructure development and security-related projects.
During the meeting, Rt. Hon. Goronyo commended the Minister of Defence for his unwavering commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and for his sustained efforts at ensuring peace and stability across the country. He emphasized that effective synergy among critical ministries remains vital to the successful implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government, noting that infrastructure development and national security are closely intertwined.
The Minister of State for Works reaffirmed his readiness to support collaborative initiatives that would enhance both infrastructural growth and security outcomes, stressing that coordinated efforts across government institutions are essential for achieving sustainable national progress.
In his response, the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd.), expressed appreciation for the courtesy visit and lauded Rt. Hon. Goronyo’s commitment to national service. He reaffirmed the Ministry of Defence’s willingness to work closely with the Ministry of Works in promoting infrastructure development that strengthens national security and supports economic growth.
As a highlight of the visit, the Honourable Minister of Defence presented a gift to the Minister of State for Works as a gesture of goodwill and mutual respect.
