The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has intensified engagement with major telecommunications operators and infrastructure providers to address service quality challenges, improve consumer experience and strengthen the protection of critical telecommunications infrastructure.
The Commission, led by the Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management, Ms Rimini Makama, visited the headquarters and facilities of Airtel Nigeria, MTN Nigeria and IHS Towers on October 21, 2026, as part of efforts to deepen regulatory engagement and strengthen industry collaboration.
The visits provided an opportunity for the NCC to engage key industry stakeholders on critical issues affecting the telecommunications sector, particularly Quality of Service (QoS), consumer satisfaction and operational challenges confronting service providers.
The Commission also emphasised the importance of safeguarding critical telecommunications infrastructure, which remains essential to maintaining reliable network connectivity and supporting Nigeria’s growing digital economy.
The engagement further focused on encouraging sustained investment in network expansion to improve service delivery and strengthen the capacity of telecommunications infrastructure to meet increasing demand.
The NCC said the visits reaffirmed its commitment to constructive dialogue and continuous stakeholder engagement as part of efforts to address industry concerns and promote a more efficient telecommunications sector.
The Commission’s engagement with operators and infrastructure providers is expected to support collaboration towards improving network performance, protecting telecommunications facilities and delivering better services to consumers across the country.
