The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has commended the Cross River State Journalists’ Forum (CROSSJOF), Abuja, for the successful launch of its new publication, Panorama Magazine, describing it as a strategic boost to diaspora reportage in Cross River State, Nigeria, and across the global Diaspora community.

In an official signed statement, Gabriel Odu of the Media and Public Relations Unit at NiDCOM disclosed that Dabiri-Erewa gave the commendation during a strategic meeting between NiDCOM and CROSSJOF in Abuja. She praised the group for its innovation, professionalism, and commitment to promoting credible, impactful and development-focused journalism.

According to her, Panorama Magazine has the potential to evolve into a vital platform for spotlighting diaspora activities, celebrating achievements, and driving national development conversations that reflect the contributions of Nigerians abroad.

Dabiri-Erewa also lauded the leadership of the CROSSJOF Chairman, Mrs. Francisca Ogar, noting that her role underscores the rising influence, visibility, and competence of women in media leadership across Nigeria. She reiterated that NiDCOM remains committed to supporting platforms that enhance diaspora engagement at federal, state, and local government levels.

“We are always ready to support initiatives that amplify diaspora stories, especially in places like Cross River State, where structures for engagement continue to grow,” she stated.

In her remarks, Mrs. Ogar expressed deep appreciation to the NiDCOM Chairman for her consistent encouragement of media organisations and unwavering support for diaspora-driven initiatives. She noted that such support has inspired Cross River State to reinvigorate its diaspora ecosystem, culminating in the inauguration of the Cross River State Diaspora Commission (CRIDCOM) in September, headed by Mr. Otu Okor, a pioneer staff of NiDCOM.

Ogar revealed that Panorama Magazine will incorporate dedicated pages highlighting NiDCOM’s programmes, activities, and diaspora success stories, ensuring sustained visibility for development-oriented engagements.

Both NiDCOM and CROSSJOF reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration aimed at improving diaspora awareness, enhancing accurate and inclusive reportage, and encouraging greater participation of Cross River State indigenes and other Nigerians in the diaspora in global development conversations.
