The Acting Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, on Friday, November 28, 2025, decorated newly promoted soldiers of the Directorate, urging them to remain steadfast, disciplined and committed to excellence in the execution of their duties.

According to a statement by the Acting Staff Officer 1, Information and Publicity, Headquarters Directorate of Army Public Relations, Major Akinola Ajibola, the ceremony, held at the DAPR Headquarters in Abuja, saw eight soldiers elevated in recognition of their diligence, dedication and outstanding service.

In her remarks, Lieutenant Colonel Anele congratulated the beneficiaries and reminded them that their new ranks come with greater responsibility and the expectation of higher professional conduct. She noted that their promotion was not only a personal achievement but also a boost to the Directorate’s capacity to project the Nigerian Army’s image effectively and professionally.

She explained that the exercise aligns with the Nigerian Army leadership’s broader efforts to motivate personnel, improve efficiency and reward excellence across all units and formations. Lieutenant Colonel Anele expressed deep appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, for his visionary leadership, consistent support to the Directorate and strong commitment to personnel welfare. She said the COAS’ dedication to recognising hard work continues to inspire higher performance within the Army’s ranks.

The Acting Director urged the newly promoted Senior Non-Commissioned Officers to mentor younger soldiers, uphold regimentation and lead by example in their various engagements.

Speaking on behalf of the promoted personnel, Warrant Officer Mohammed Hassan expressed gratitude to Almighty God for the privilege of elevation, while thanking the COAS and the Directorate for the confidence reposed in them. He assured that the beneficiaries would rededicate themselves to their duties and contribute more meaningfully to the goals of the Nigerian Army.
