In a decisive move to bolster operational efficiency and combat readiness, senior commanders of the Nigerian Army’s Combat Service Support (CSS) Corps began a four-day operational visit to Headquarters Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) from 26 to 29 November 2025. The visit aims to assess and enhance logistics, medical support, and maintenance systems across the North East theatre.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of Task Force North East OPHK, the visiting team included Major General Nansak Shagaya, Commander Corps of Supply and Transport; Major General Abdullahi Ibrahim, Corps Commander Ordnance; Major General Adeyinka Adereti, Commander Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers; and Brigadier General Innocent Enwuchola, Commander Corps of Medical.

The commanders were received at Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, by the Theatre Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, who welcomed them to the operational headquarters. Speaking on behalf of the team, Major General Shagaya commended the officers and soldiers of OPHK for their resilience and sacrifices in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations. He noted that the visit’s primary goal is to conduct an operational logistics assessment, evaluate current capacities, and identify areas requiring reinforcement to sustain ongoing and future operations.

Major General Shagaya praised the Theatre’s detailed briefings as “insightful and highly commendable,” while urging troops to remain focused and maintain momentum despite operational challenges.

Each of the visiting commanders highlighted key areas of operational support. Brigadier General Enwuchola applauded the medical corps for their dedication, revealing plans to upgrade the 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital (7 DMSH) to align with best practices. Major General Ibrahim emphasized the critical role of logistics, assuring that identified needs would receive prompt strategic attention. Major General Adereti underscored the importance of equipment maintenance, urging commanders to fully utilise engineering personnel to keep all platforms operational and to deny terrorists freedom of action.

The Theatre Commander, Major General Abubakar, welcomed the assessment and reaffirmed that robust logistics and support systems are central to operational success. He expressed confidence that the visit would enhance coordination and efficiency across combat and support units and pledged continued collaboration with the CSS Corps.

The four-day operational review also covers Headquarters 7 Division Nigerian Army, Sector 1, and Sectors 2 and 3 of Operation HADIN KAI. The visit featured detailed briefings, exchange of souvenirs, and group photographs, highlighting the commitment of the Nigerian Army to strengthen combat readiness in the North East.
