The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Lieutenant Commander Victor O. Agunbiade of the United States Navy on receiving the highly coveted Meritorious Service Medal awarded by the President of the United States of America.

In an official signed statement, the Head of Media and Public Relations at NiDCOM, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, said Dabiri-Erewa described the honour as “a remarkable testament to discipline, excellence, and the exceptional contributions of Nigerians serving across the world.”

She noted that Lt. Cdr. Agunbiade’s outstanding service between September 2023 and November 2025 reflects the bravery, professionalism, and integrity that Nigerians consistently demonstrate across global institutions.

According to her, the recognition stands as both a personal milestone for Agunbiade and a national honour for Nigeria, reinforcing the country’s reputation as a source of exceptional talent and distinguished professionals.

Dabiri-Erewa encouraged other Nigerians in the diaspora to continue striving for excellence, while wishing Lt. Cdr. Agunbiade greater achievements in his career.
