The Federal Government has reiterated its readiness to deepen collaboration with the organised private sector as part of strategic efforts to drive inclusive economic growth, industrial expansion, and national development.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, CON, made this known in Abuja when he received a delegation of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and the Organised Private Sector of Nigeria (OPSN) led by their President and Chairman, Engr. (Dr.) Jani Ibrahim, during a courtesy visit to his office.

In an official statement signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Segun Imohiosen, the SGF acknowledged the pivotal role of the private sector in the nation’s economic advancement and underscored government’s commitment to strengthening partnerships that unlock Nigeria’s vast economic potentials.

“I must commend the Nigerian private sector for its consistent partnership with government in shaping the economic direction of our nation. NACCIMA, as the umbrella body of the organised private sector in Nigeria, has over the years been a critical stakeholder in policy advocacy, enterprise development, and sustainable economic growth,” Akume stated.

He further assured that under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal Government remains committed to building an enabling environment where businesses can thrive, industries can expand, and investments can flourish.

“Government sees NACCIMA and OPSN not just as partners, but as co-drivers in the journey towards building a resilient, diversified, and self-reliant economy,” the SGF said. “I assure you of the full cooperation of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation in fostering closer collaboration with NACCIMA and the entire Organised Private Sector. We look forward to robust engagements that will translate into concrete outcomes for our economy and our people.”

Earlier, the President of NACCIMA and Chairman of OPSN, Engr. (Dr.) Jani Ibrahim, reaffirmed the organisation’s alignment with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, revealing that NACCIMA has initiated several development-oriented programmes aimed at advancing national economic goals.

He cited the NACCIMA Green Initiative as a flagship project targeting the planting of one billion economic trees across Nigeria in partnership with the Federal and State Governments, development agencies, and private institutions. The project, he said, seeks to promote climate resilience, environmental sustainability, and rural employment opportunities.

“As we deepen collaboration, let us embrace the guiding principle of Nigeria First, a shared determination to prioritise local capacity, promote indigenous enterprise, and build a future where public and private sectors thrive together,” Ibrahim stated.

The visit underscored a renewed commitment by both government and the private sector to forge a unified front in driving sustainable development, promoting industrialisation, and ensuring shared prosperity for Nigerians.
