The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), in collaboration with the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, has announced plans to host a virtual interactive session to discuss the implications of Nigeria’s newly enacted tax reform laws on citizens living abroad.

According to an official statement signed by the Director of Media and Public Relations at NiDCOM, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the virtual dialogue titled “Impact of the New Tax Reform Laws on Nigerians in the Diaspora” is scheduled to hold on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. (Nigeria time).

Balogun explained that the session aims to enlighten Nigerians in the diaspora on the provisions and practical effects of the recent tax reform laws while providing an open platform to clarify grey areas regarding compliance, obligations, and overall economic impact.

Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, described the initiative as part of the Federal Government’s commitment to inclusivity and transparency in policy formulation and implementation. She emphasized the importance of keeping diaspora Nigerians well-informed about fiscal policies that could affect their investments, remittances, and contributions to the national economy.

“As key contributors to national development, it is essential for Nigerians in the diaspora to be fully informed about the new tax framework and its potential implications for their economic activities,” Dabiri-Erewa said.

The NiDCOM boss added that the engagement would also allow participants to interact directly with policy experts from the Presidential Committee and other relevant government agencies, who will provide practical insights and respond to participants’ questions.

Interested participants are encouraged to register ahead of the event via https://forms.gle/gnad3z5Wf7JjcamA8 or by scanning the event’s official QR code.
