The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has charged newly commissioned officers of the Regimental Intelligence and Security Officers Course 4/2025 to become beacons of clarity, foresight, and resilience as the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) intensifies efforts to adapt to emerging national security threats.

Air Marshal Abubakar gave the charge during the graduation ceremony held at the Nigerian Air Force School of Air Intelligence, Makurdi, on Friday, July 11, 2025. He described the successful completion of the course as a significant milestone in the NAF’s ongoing drive to enhance its human capacity development across all operational fronts.

In a statement signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Air Chief emphasized the growing complexity of modern security threats, particularly those posed by non-state actors, criminal networks, and internal saboteurs. He noted that such challenges demand intelligence-led operations and swift, proactive responses to stay ahead of adversaries.

“These evolving challenges have necessitated a shift in how the Nigerian Air Force anticipates, prepares and responds to emerging threats,” he stated. “As intelligence officers, you are expected to bring clarity to uncertainty, foresight to decision making, and resilience to operations.”

The recently concluded course focused on critical areas such as intelligence collection, analysis, dissemination, and counterintelligence. Participating officers were drawn from various NAF units to promote an integrated and collaborative intelligence approach across operational theatres and air bases, ultimately closing gaps and improving response times.

Air Marshal Abubakar commended the Commandant, instructors, and staff of the NAF School of Air Intelligence for their professionalism and commitment to training excellence. He also expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his steadfast support to the Nigerian Air Force and the broader defence sector.

He reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to strengthening its intelligence and operational capabilities, in alignment with its constitutional mandate and the strategic goals of national security.
